Spring programming for ACT has two sections.
Section 1 is being held in person on Tuesdays from 1/21 – 4/1 in Baker 805 from 2:45 pm – 4:15 pm.
Section 2 is being held in person on Wednesdays from 1/22 – 4/2 in Baker 805 from 2:00 pm – 3:30 pm.
The Academy of College Teaching (ACT) is co-sponsored by AdvancED and the Graduate School. This new 10-week program is a redesign and continuation of the previous Certificate in College Teaching program and will integrate both theory and practical applications. This program aims to prepare participants for future careers in higher education teaching and is intended for Vanderbilt graduate students and postdocs whose goals are to become more effective educators and who wish to gain a clearer, deeper, more active approach to teaching and learning in higher education. As such, this program is most useful for Vanderbilt graduate students and postdocs in their last two years on campus at Vanderbilt who intend to pursue positions in higher education institutions with a teaching component. The program focuses on the research on learning and best teaching practices and supports the university’s pursuit of excellence in teaching and learning.

Please complete the following registration form to indicate your interest and availability for the upcoming spring semester’s Academy of College Teaching Course. Registration priority will be given to participants who have already completed the CiCT Seminar and students closer to graduation. For prior CiCT participants, this ACT course is equivalent to the CiCT Practicum course. We will reach back out to let you know which section you have been enrolled in before the start of the semester.
